BLOCHK PARTY 2013

The first thing I noticed about aging is my hearing. I remember the day someone else pointed out the high frequency noise that came out of a CRT TV instead of me. You know, that hissing noise from cheap TVs in sleep mode.

Steve Aoki is more awesomer than I thought…

The second thing I noticed about aging is my interest in music. I stopped scouring the internet for the latest tune, I stopped singing along to the radios. When I go to a Kareoke, I stick to the classics. Whenever there’s a new song featured on TV, more often than before, I look it with an avant garde destain and think to my self: young people have no idea what good music is. Of course then right after that I come to a self reflective moment and think to my self: o my god… I’ve become old.

This past weekend I went to the BLOCHK party. I watched Steve Aoki slamming cakes. I watched Grand Master Flash struggling with microphones at first, but then spun songs from NWA. Then alas, Pharrell Williams, just being him self. The creative force behind my two favorite songs this year, performed brilliantly, and presented him self in such a humble manner made me appreciate him even more. I was dancing, I was clapping, I was singing. It was truly a religious experience.
