The Illusionist / L’illusionniste

I’m really glad that I remembered to watch this film. No words can describe the feeling I felt while watching this. I have never seen so much care and love going into an animated film.

Miyazaki definitely has has a influence, but The Illusionist’s approach to a story is much simpler, but still manages to attain that perfect balance of emotions. I haven’t seen something this beautiful for a really long time. Each scene is meticulously crafted, seriously, every cut, my eye brows jump and I take a deep breath. Edinburgh, you lucky Edinburgh, I have never seen a city so beautifully depicted. You just made it onto my travel list.
