I some how remembered this film the other day and decided to give it a watch. Yes, Chinese television programs are so bland that I decided to watch a film about a Chinese ballet dancer… a male one for that matter. (Thank you very fucking much SARFT).
Anyways, I was surprised I enjoyed this film very much. What a wonderful story about people, triumph of will, and a young China just starting to open its self up and taking a peak at the world. I love it so much that I’m angry that this film got overlooked when it came out. I recommend it for all.
