Folsom street fair 2010
America preaches the freedom and liberty that's granted to her citizens, often, I have to admit here, I take that for granted, and to be frank, I'm more negative towards this issue than possitive, ie, prisoner rights, and lack of death penalty. Over the past weekend though, I saw the other end of the spectrum at Folsom street fair.
For friends that don't know what this is about, it is a fair that purely celebrates sexual freedom, doesn't matter what your sexual preference is, you're welcome to show it off, judgement free. It's the ultimate celebration of our sexuality, for that, I'm glad I was part of it.... despite the fact I wish to "un-see" a lot of things I saw that day.
The following is a sneak peak, more pictures will be saved for later showing.

uh... Hello Class

So, for the few of you that read my blog often,(whatever your reason might be) you might have noticed my lack of posts lately. Work in the past few weeks has been very demanding, and at the same time I've taken on a new challenge.
A few month ago, I was reunited with two of my favorite teachers from ArtCenter. I was told that they're tasked with improving quality of the new bloods in the advertising program in Academy of Art, here in San Francisco, and since they're short on instructors, they wondered if I'd like to help out. Without hesitating, I've accepted.
There's a saying in Chinese that loosely translate to: Having a teacher for a day equates to having a parent for life. (一日为师,终生为父) let's hope I'm at least half-assedly good as my teachers. Brace your selves kids, here comes professor Deng.

Polaroid of the Week
Pier 23 is a bar on Embarcadero we often go to. These were taken one of our colleagues' farewell party.

Polaroid of the week 04 19 10

SF often have these short and sudden showers, they'd start misty, then drizzle and suddenly clouds would rush off. So on this cloudy day there was nothing special, except the serendipity of timing, the clouds were thinning as the night begins to fall. Everything for that brief 10 minutes turned into blue.

Earth Hour 2010 San Francisco
This is the second year I'm covering Earth Hour in my city. This time, I was expecting massive blackouts in various neighborhoods caused by SF residents. Techies, Hippies, Gays, who doesn't want to safe the planet in this city right? Besides, California is nearing bankruptcy, if I'm a government official, I'd shut off as much lights as possible for one hour.
Just like a lot of calculations I made in my life, I was wrong again. I stood on my balcony totally stoked thinking that I could document the dramatic switch off, but instead, things pretty much stayed the same, except for Coit Tower and the Golden Gate bridge off in the distance.
Shame on you San Francisco.

There was absolutely no change before and after 8:30pm, what an embarrassment.

Northern Cal skirmish, Polaroid of the Week 03-15-10

Over the weekend, out on a whim, I decided to make my way to Eureka California. Of all the years I lived in California, I've never drove on the one beyond Golden Gate. Besides the fact that renting a Mini Cooper S is pricier than I have expected, the trip turned out to be one of my most favorite trips. Sally enjoyed the drive too, we both were awed by the stunning landscape, and seeing the Pacific ocean from the edge of a cliff was something new to both of us.

Another noteworthy item on the trip, was this huge whale scull next to a light house.

Cutwater San Francisco

After an entire month in heiatus, I finally squeezed out a little time to post an update. Yes folks, I've left Mullen Boston, and am now with Cutwater in the beautiful San Francisco. I was lucky enough to be put on a cool project for Persol, for those hipsters that knows the brand, expect some exciting stuff very soon, for those of you who don't, don't worry, you'll hear me babbling about it often.
The January trip was amazing, I got to work with one of my favorite photographers, Carlos Serrao, and his amazing crew. Aside from eating non stop at various cool places to compensate for lack of sleep (sounds really bad I know), I also got to fly on the airplane I created ads for - the A380 airbus. It's a gorgeous airplane. Business class seat that goes all the way horizontal, restrooms that's twice the size as other planes', and LED cabin lights that dims and transitions to different colors.
Ok, enough babbling, here are some pictures, more will be posted soon.

2. Realization of being underdressed in Northern Cal.
3. Living in a hotel for almost an entire month.
4. Despite the fact I only have 5 pieces of furniture. For 3 days I did nothing but packing.

6. Saying goodbye to wintery Boston was easier than I thought, sorry Boston.
7. Saying goodbye to friends is always hard.
