Pictures of my one year in Boston are up, click here to check them out, comments are welcome :)

After an entire month in heiatus, I finally squeezed out a little time to post an update. Yes folks, I've left Mullen Boston, and am now with Cutwater in the beautiful San Francisco. I was lucky enough to be put on a cool project for Persol, for those hipsters that knows the brand, expect some exciting stuff very soon, for those of you who don't, don't worry, you'll hear me babbling about it often.
The January trip was amazing, I got to work with one of my favorite photographers, Carlos Serrao, and his amazing crew. Aside from eating non stop at various cool places to compensate for lack of sleep (sounds really bad I know), I also got to fly on the airplane I created ads for - the A380 airbus. It's a gorgeous airplane. Business class seat that goes all the way horizontal, restrooms that's twice the size as other planes', and LED cabin lights that dims and transitions to different colors.
Ok, enough babbling, here are some pictures, more will be posted soon.

This week marks my one year anniversary in Boston. It's definitely been an interesting year. I love this city and have developed a New England pride, I've made many new friends, and saw many new things for the first time. Looking back, I think my memories of Beijing never faded. To mark this occasion, I've created an album dedicated to the city I came from. A collection of pictures I took of the city between 2004 to 2008 can be seen here. Comments are welcome.
couple of weeks ago, I saw this cool picture circulating around the internet, it was of a moving rommba vacuum machine. I liked it so much and I just had to copy it. This is my first attempt. Shot with a fish eye lens with my own trusty roomba.

Panera is a wonderful chain restaurant. I love everything they make, sandwiches, soup, bread, you name it. We're shooting a series of new items on their updated menu for this season, I was tasked to look after the shoot this time with a wonderful photographer Francine Zaslow. When she saw me carrying my bulky Hassleblad, she offered me some free film right away, that was awesome! Her studio is located in a converted drydock.
Its' amazing how much preparation we go through for shooting food porn, unlike some restaurant chains though, we're shooting the real thing, not some over waxed, airbrushed stuff.

Props for the shoot.

George is our food stylist, he prepares sandwiches with tweezers.

Every Panera restaurant has a certified baker in there, baking bread from fresh dough, I LOVE their bread.

John Huet is a photographer based in Boston. He's been traveling to China for the past year and was in Beijing during the spectacular 2008 Olympics. He just recently came back and decided to update his website. Me, along with couple of cool kids from Mullen Boston and in W+K Shanghai were privileged with designing some of his photos. The pictures above are some of the ones I helped out with. You can view the rest of the series at http://www.johnhuet.com

Standing in the snow in the past weekend really made me appreciate how beautiful winter can be. These are some brief moments I captured before I ran back to my car and sped back to my cozy apartment.

Memories from Switzerland.
Nui came back from her vacation and got me this souvenir. Thanks Nui.

"Hu Yang's extensive photographic publication "Shanghai Living" documents the living spaces of 500 families living in today's Shanghai. A selection of 100 of the images were first displayed at ShanghART Gallery and caused unforeseen public attention due to their rare and particular presentation of intimate and protected private spaces." - Design You Trust.

This entire week has been a week of thunder storms and flash floods for Boston and its surrounding areas. Between the rain and sun, there are these amazing clouds. I caught this moment as I was driving home from work. I love Vanilla Sky. Yes, because I just got an amazing scanner, the white frames are back!

When I first Saw Amy Stein's work I thought she's a nature photographer who got together some fancy motion sensing equipment and shot these amazing photos. Then I realized some of them just have to be posed long enough for the exposure to work at night. Then I read her interview with fecalface I finally realized that these animals are stuffed. Her website is http://www.amysteinphoto.com/ enjoy

Polaroid of the week this week is a shot of a very boxy ice cream truck I saw down in Lower East Side of Manhattan. Its almost cartoon like.
