Life and Death of Peter Sellers

| | Comments (0)

life and death peter sellers.jpg

I was watching HBO the other day, it was showing a Geoffrey Rush movie called The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Like the title suggested, its about the British movie star Peter Sellers, the talented actor who had always adopted his characters' personalities so effortlessly and natrually. Such a powerful and smart drama depicting a person's inner and outer world. I couldn't believe HBO originals have done this well, I also couldn't believe I didn't watch this earlier (2004). The film has an amazing supporting cast, Charlize Theron, Emily Watson, John Lithgow, Stanley Tucci, they've all been wonderful. Its a must see.

This is all over the blogs in China, I kind of like it, certainly different from other hair product ads.
Political connotation? well yeah, of course, but I mean, I thought this is why western kids suck at school isn't it? School is not supposed to be 100% fun. Besides, red ribbons still rock.

I really wanted to eat at this place for a while now. For Siliva's b-day dinner, I took her here. It is a
spanish tapas place similar to Mare, but way better and way more expensive.

Tapa dishes are great. They are very creative and unique, however, the fish they used are not as fresh as their price would suggest, but they're tollerable, especially in a city like Beijing.

The environment is quite nice, with proper restaurant lighting, and the space its self is somewhat interesting. The last time I saw a red brick restaurant interior was when I was in New York. I liked that.

The price is on the uper 100s (RMB) per dish, so be prepared. The main course we ordered were fabulous and worth the money I think.

Silvia, Chubby boy, Me @ Alexander.jpg

Silvia's birthday is coming up soon, and we decided to host a pool party. I wish its warm out door pool with bbq grills and the whole works, but that is not very likely in Beijing. We had fun non the less at Alexander Club though, bring in junk food, and sodas by the hot tub, then having a home cooked meal in the apt. Special thanks to Yuhong, Li Yue and Lipei for bringing their special dish, and of course MeiMei for the cool B-day gift :)

Shame on Vivian, Jessica, and Claire for bailing out :(

This is why I don't think I can hack it in Shang Hai. Out of all places, why would us, the longest continuous culture on earth do things like this?

Zune art

zune ad page.jpg

I will never buy a Zune, the navigation system is not horrendous but its messier than ipod. The thing I really dig though, is their advertising. This thing on the web is really cool, the posters, short animations has little to do with the actual product, but it has to do with interpretation of certain kind of music. I prefer this form of advertising, it is making an effort to say, yeah, we get it, we love music and all the feelings it conjures up too, not because we want you to buy this music related product. In a few days, I will post what I've done for Airbus thats similar to this. ;)
